Why is open-source so different?

When companies produce a product they have a monetary interest to keep it going. That doesn’t exist for open-source projects. More trust that needs to be built in order to have others adopt it and eventually contribute back.

Support the community

  • Showcasing partners using the project
  • Making on-boarding straightforward
  • Adding maintainers

Work in the open

  • Using public conversation channels
  • Make publishing transparent and community driven
